Spring In Provence Commission Painting

This is my latest commission oil painting for a client in Nevada.
The painting is a 36 by 36 inch on canvas.

I have painted this similar scene before. it seems to be a favorite for many people and I do different versions. None are identical. My impressionist palette knife painting style which is very intuitive would not permit me to duplicate my work anyway and I have no desire to do so. It would be very boring and go against every fiber of my being.

I use a Provencal palette in this worlk, painted with brush and palette knife.

It takes about a month to six weeks to dry and then I will varnish it. I use damar varnish.
Damar is a resin that comes from a tree found in India and east Asia. Damar or Dammar resin dissolved with turpentine has been used as a picture varnish for oil paintings since 1826.

It is non clouding and non yellowing.
